Police say the man in these surveillance shots attacked a cabbie in the Bronx on Saturday night.

This was one frightening fare.

An unhinged brute asked a cabbie to take him from Manhattan to the Bronx Saturday, then lunged at him with a box cutter once they arrived, officials said Wednesday.

The 35-year-old driver told police he picked up his cruel customer, a man in his 20s, in his yellow cab at Delancey and Ludlow Sts. in the Bowery about 2 a.m.

The man asked to go to an intersection in the West Bronx, but when the cab arrived at Grand Concourse and E. 179th St., the suspect said they were at the wrong spot.

The cabbie told his customer he needed to be paid first before going to the next destination, officials said.

Outraged, his customer threw a wad of cash at him, then punched him in the face.

The man then got out of the taxi, smashed the windows on the passenger side, punched the cabbie in the face again, and slashed him with a box cutter on his wrist and back, officials said.

The passenger grabbed back the money he had thrown at the hack, slashed the vehicle’s front tires for good measure and then ran off, cops said.

Paramedics took the cabbie to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Cops were still looking for the suspect, described as Hispanic, 5-foot-9 and about 180 pounds. He was wearing a wearing a blue Corona sweatshirt at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
