Hour-long waits for the Staten Island Ferry could be a thing of the past come 2015.
The City Council voted Wednesday to increase service to every half hour, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Currently, riders wait a full 60 minutes in the early-morning hours during the week and after 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
If the mayor signs off, the Department of Transportation will have until May 2015 to start the additional runs.
