Feds: Queens Men Tried To Outfit Taliban Fighters Overseas

Two Queens men were placed under arrest Thursday on charges they tried to provide support to terrorists overseas.

Prosecutors say Humayoun Nabi and Ismail Alsarabbi were under investigation while staying at the Pan American hotel in Elmhurst from April 2011 through November of last year.

They allege the men tried to buy boots, coats and other winter gear for Taliban fighters but hadn’t sent them overseas.

The men face state-level terrorism and conspiracy charges.

Police say the pair believes properly outfitted Taliban would be better prepared to beat American forces.

Lawyers for the suspects are claiming entrapment.
