Mayor’s Office: City Has Gone Full Week Without A Murder

Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office says the city has gone a full week without a murder for the second time this year.

According to the mayor’s office, there hasn’t been a murder since October 6.

There have been 256 murders so far this year, compared to 346 at this time last year, a 26 percent drop.

The last week without a murder was back in January, amid bitterly cold temperatures.

Before that, there was a murder-free week right after Hurricane Sandy.
