National Park Service, State Reach Agreement To Reopen Statue Of Liberty

Despite the government shutdown, Lady Liberty will once again welcome visitors starting this weekend.

The National Park Service has reached an agreement with the State to allow the statue to temporarily reopen.

The state will donate nearly $ 370,000 to allow National Park Service employees to reopen and manage it.

The park will open for a period of six days running from Saturday through next Thursday.
