Three-Alarm Fire Rips Through Brooklyn Home

A fast moving fire that engulfed a residential building in Brooklyn early this morning remains under investigation.

The New York City Fire Department says flames broke out around 4 a.m. inside the home located at 1063 East 35th Street in Flatlands.

Fire officials at the scene say it started on the first floor, and spread across all three stories of the building.

All residents who were inside made it out unharmed.

“We were very lucky that there was only one person, with very minor injuries. Our concern was the volume of fire, and whether the fire would communicate to adjoining buildings,” said FDNY Assistant Chief Joseph Pfeifer.

More than 100 firefighters responded to the scene of the fire.

Two were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
