Toddler struck by Verizon van in Brooklyn

A 3-year-old boy was in critical but stable condition Friday after being hit by a Verizon van (not pictured).



A toddler was critically injured Thursday night after he ran in front of an oncoming van in Brooklyn, police said.


The 3-year-old boy was hit by a Verizon vehicle after he ran into Sheffield St. near Wortman Ave. in Canarsie at 11:30 p.m., police said. Emergency responders rushed the boy to Brookdale Medical Center, where he was in critical but stable condition early Friday, police said. His name was not released.

The driver of the van was not charged, police said.
