Woman dies after leaping in front of B train at Barclays Center station

A 60-year-old woman was killed Thursday after she leapt in front of an oncoming Brooklyn B train at the Atlantic Ave./Barclays Center station, officials said.


Police said the unidentified woman jumped in front of the northbound train about 12:30 p.m. and died at the scene.


FDNY officials said a second straphanger was rushed to Brooklyn Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.


It was not clear if that person had any role in the suicide.


Service on the B and Q lines was affected for 90 minutes as the police investigated the woman’s death, an MTA spokesman said.
