Two NYPD Officers Suffer Minor Injuries Responding to Brooklyn Fire

Two NYPD officers were treated for minor injuries Thursday after responding to a fire in Brooklyn.

It comes just a few days after another fire in the borough claimed the life of a fellow officer and seriously injured another.

Officials say this latest fire broke out around 1 p.m. inside a building located at 32 Scholes Street in Williamsburg.

Police say a sergeant and an officer ran into the building to investigate and alert residents to evacuate.

They also helped carry a 1-year-old baby out of the burning building.

Both officers were taken to Woodhull Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire was under control after 45 minutes.

Police say the officers followed correct procedures.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
