Wake Held for NYPD Officer Killed in Brooklyn Fire

Family, friends and colleagues will gather today to remember the New York City Police Department officer who died after responding to a fire last weekend.

Dennis Guerra, 38, died Wednesday.

He suffered smoke inhalation Sunday while alerting residents to a fire in a Coney Island building that police say was intentionally set.

His partner, Rosa Rodriguez, remains hospitalized.

Guerra’s wake will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at James Romanelli-Stephen Funeral Home in Queens.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima parish.
