Pedestrian critically injured by ‘drunk driver’ in Bronx

Cops investigate after a 26-year-old man was critically injured by an alleged drunk driver in the Bronx Monday evening.



A 26-year-old man was struck and critically injured by a drunken driver while crossing the Grand Concourse in the Bronx , cops and a police source said Tuesday.


The man was hit while crossing the intersection at E. 198th St. and Grand Concourse at 11:48 p.m. Monday, cops said.

The driver, Freddie Rodriguez, 47, remained at the scene and was arrested. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.


The victim was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital and was listed in critical condition, a police source said.
