13-year-old Brooklyn boy shot in the head

A 13-year-old innocent bystander was shot in the head by a gunman today on a Brooklyn Street, police sources said.

The boy was standing outside a storefront at 1056 Flatbush Avenue in Kensington around noon, when an unidentified assailant opened fire for unspecified reasons and then ran off, sources said.

The victim was struck in the face by an errant bullet and rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was listed in serious, but stable condition, the sources said.

Authorities did not immediately release his name.
