One pedestrian dead, another injured in separate accidents

One pedestrian was killed and another is fighting for his life after two separate accidents less than an hour apart in Brooklyn on Sunday morning, authorities said.

A woman in her 60s was crossing the street at Ralph Avenue and East 65th Street around 7 a.m., when a car hit and killed her, police said. The driver remained at the scene and there were no signs of criminality, cops added.

At 6:20 a.m., a man in his 60s was also crossing the street at 18th Avenue and 65th Street and was struck by a motorist, police said. He was rushed to Lutheran Hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials said.

The victims’ names have not been released because their families have not yet been notified.
