Police Shoot Man Dead After Allegedly Being Threatened with Box Cutter

Police shot and killed a man in Queens after they say he threatened officers with a box cutter.

Investigators say it all started around 2:30 a.m. Sunday when the man came into New York Hospital Queens saying he was having trouble breathing.

They say he was released, but then returned about an hour later demanding syringes and threatening employees with the blade.

Police were called and say they found the man around 8:30 a.m. a few blocks away on Kissena Boulevard.

They say the man threatened them with the knife and that’s when an officer fired his gun twice hitting the man once in the chest and killing him.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
