The “Times Square Baby” got a boo-boo early Saturday when a rowdy teenager slapped the costumed panhandler and bolted — prompting one of his costume-wearing counterparts to chase down the twerp and perform a citizen’s arrest, police sources said.
The 59-year-old “baby” had been sporting a diaper and bib for tips on Broadway near 45th Street at around 12:30 a.m., when Camron Kulver, 16, asked if he could snap a photo with him — but whacked him in the face instead, police sources said.
The jerky teen took off running north, leaving the poor baby with something to boo-hoo about — a swollen red face, police sources said.
A pal in a “Spartan Soldier” costume rushed to the rescue — chasing the teen for a block and holding him for cops, the sources said.
Police officers showed up shortly after and busted Kulver on an assault rap, the sources said.
The Times Square Baby wears a diaper, crying baby mask and a pacifier around his neck. He shakes a rattle and dances for tips.
The goofy character even has a Facebook page, where dozens of fans go gaga for his strange shtick.
“I am always around Times Square, dancing and making people smile, laugh and have a good time,” his Facebook page declares.
