Latest ‘drunk’ NYPD officer cuffed, accused of shooting woman’s car

Yet another NYPD cop has been busted for drunkenly firing their weapon — the third in less than a week.

Sergeant Wanda Anthony of the 122nd Precinct was arrested in Watchung, NJ, early Wednesday when she fired a shot into another woman’s car at around 3:30 a.m., sources said.

The Staten Island cop was wasted at the time and apparently pulled out her service weapon during some type of domestic dispute involving Anthony’s boyfriend and another woman, the sources said. No one was injured.

Anthony’s arrest came just hours after Bronx cop Brendan Cronin unloaded six shots into a man riding in a car just north of the city, Pelham police said.

Last week, two boozed up Brooklyn cops were arrested after Detective Jay Poggi accidentally shot partner Matthew Sullivan before driving drunk to the hospital.

This Tuesday, July 23, 2013 photo shows the Long Island College Hospital (LICH) in the Brooklyn borough of New York. Experts say the planned shut-downs of Interfaith Medical Center and Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn are more evidence that small and mid-sized hospitals are increasingly finding it hard to pay the bills, especially if they serve poorer neighborhoods. (AP Photo/Bebeto Matthews)Bebeto Matthews/AP Mayor de Blasio is pushing SUNY to talk to other bidders amidst concerns that Brooklyn Health Partners will not be able to provide adequate care at the Long Island College Hospital site.

ALBANY — Expressing concerns that Brooklyn Health Partners won’t be able to provide adequate care at the Long Island College Hospital site, Mayor de Blasio Wednesday called on the State University of New York to begin talks with other bidders.

De Blasio, who had previously raised concerns about the business’ ability to deliver what it promised in its winning bid, asked SUNY to move on to “preserve quality, uninterrupted health care services” when SUNY gives up control of LICH on May 22.

Brooklyn Health Partners earlier Wednesday dismissed talk of problems and said it expects the deal will be finalized within days. State officials say that’s unlikely.

Sterling set to fight NBA ban with lawsuit to block sale of Clippers: source

Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling attends the NBA playoff game between the Clippers and the Golden State Warriors on April 21, 2014 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The NBA banned Sterling for life for "deeply offensive and harmful" racist comments that sparked a national firestorm. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver hit Sterling with every penalty at his disposal, fining him a maximum $ 2.5 million dollars and calling on other owners to force him to sell his team. AFP PHOTO / ROBYN BECKROBYN BECK/AFP/Getty ImagesROBYN BECK/AFP/Getty Images Donald Sterling doesn’t plan on going away quietly from the NBA, according to a league executive who is close to the disgraced Clippers owner.

LOS ANGELES — Donald Sterling won’t go down without a fight, according to an NBA executive who is close to the disgraced owner of the Clippers, and will sue the NBA if the other 29 owners vote to force him to sell.

The wheels are in motion to remove Sterling, a process that the executive said Wednesday night would lead to a lawsuit by the disgraced owner, possibly tying up the future of the team for years.

“He is not going to sell the team,” the exeuctive said.

Members of the owners’ advistory and finance committee, which includes Miami Heat owner Mickey Arison, planned to hold a meeting Thursday to discuss the next steps in forcing Sterling to sell the team he has owned for 33 years. Seventy-five percent of the league’s 29 other teams would have to vote in favor of such a move.

Heat forward LeBron James said Wednesday the owners need to act swiftly on dealing with Sterling, saying: “Obviously, it’s not going to be night and day — you wake up tomorrow and the team is in someone else’s hands,” James told reporters after practice in Miami. “But we need to get the next step going.”

On Tuesday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver insisted that the revelation of Sterling’s bigoted words on an audio tape recorded by his girlfriend was “a painful moment for all members of the NBA family,” and less than 24 hours steps were being taken to remove Sterling from the NBA permanently.

As the Daily News reported Wednesday, if Sterling sues, he would likely base his case on language in the NBA constitution that deals with conduct that constitutes “willful acts,” a term that can be difficult to interpret and enforce. Generally those acts include criminal behavior, financial instability or gambling or fixing games.

(Photo by Jonathan Alcorn/Getty Images)Jonathan Alcorn/Getty Images An overwhelming amount of Clippers fans want Donald Sterling removed as team owner.

“He’ll sue and it’ll take years to settle,” said the source close to Sterling.

Reverberations from Sterling’s racist words continued Wednesday.

Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive offered the strongest support of Silver from an ownership position.

“I would be surprised if this was not a unanimous vote,” Ranadive said during an ESPN Radio interview. “The owners are amazing people — they’re color-blind — and I fully expect a unanimous vote.”

Players across the league had planned potential boycotts of playoff games had Silver not issued such a definitive punishment as the one leveled against Sterling. Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson maintained that it was a realistic option before his team played the Clippers in Game 5.

“Luckily it didn’t come to that,” said Chris Paul, the Clippers point guard and the National Basketball Players Association president.

The National Basketball Association on Tuesday banned Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling from the game for life for racist comments that outraged players, fans and the U.S. President. REUTERS/Shannon Stapleton SHANNON STAPLETON/REUTERS NBA commissioner Adam Silver bans Donald Sterling for life over his racist comments.

Paul, James and others recognize the power that they have in their corner regarding public perception in light of Sterling’s “hateful feelings,” as Silver referred to the recordings that were leaked to TMZ.com on Friday.

“With this particular case we’re fighting for, I don’t think it can do anything to hurt our game,” James said. “We’re fighting to get an owner out of our league who shouldn’t be a part of our league. No matter how long it takes, no matter how much money it costs, we need to get him out of there — and whoever is associated with him doesn’t belong in our league.”

James’s feelings toward Sterling carry a personal antagonism, according to an ESPN report. David Geffen, a music and film mogul with a net worth that Forbes estimates at $ 6.2 billion, said James was interested in playing in Los Angeles when he was a free agent in 2010. James reportedly told Geffen that he chose the Heat, in part, because he would never play for Sterling.

“[THE] reasons are perfectly clear,” said Geffen, who added that he was interested in buying the Clippers with a group that includes Oprah Winfrey.

Sterling’s absence from the Staples Center during Game 5 was one step toward creating a workplace where players like James may someday want to play again. Fans held banners and signs in the air as they cheered the Clippers. One sign looked toward the future. It read, “Clippers new owner wanted! Racists need not apply!”

City parents are chomping at the bit for charters.

An estimated 70,700 families submitted more than 210,000 applications for 21,000 open seats at city charter schools for the coming school year, New York City Charter School Center officials said Wednesday.

The record number of applications will leave about 50,000 kids on waiting lists.

That’s about the same number of wait-listed kids as last year, despite 15 new charter schools set to open in the 2014-15 school year.

“Demand for charter schools from parents continues to exceed the supply of seats by a high margin, as is the case with high-quality traditional district schools,” said James Merriman, CEO of the Charter School Center.

Mayor Delays Housing Announcement Amid Speculation That Deal With Teachers Union Is Near

Mayor Bill de Blasio is delaying the announcement of his affordable housing plan, originally scheduled for Thursday morning, and there is speculation that the reason is because City Hall is close to reaching a contract agreement with the city’s teachers union.

A spokesman for the United Federation of Teachers said negotiations are ongoing.

A spokesman for the mayor would not confirm the reason for the delay in the announcement.

He said the affordable housing plan is complete and not the cause of the delay.

All of the city’s 152 labor unions are working with expired contracts.

If the mayor reaches a deal with the teachers, it would be the first such agreement settled by his administration.

It could also prove to be a template for other unions negotiating with City Hall.

Leaders of the teachers union have been seeking retroactive pay raises for their members.

FAA halts air traffic around southwest over computer issues

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Wednesday, April 30, 2014, 7:43 PM

MONDAY APRIL 22,2013 FILE PHOTODamian Dovarganes/ASSOCIATED PRESS Federal Aviation officials blamed technical issues in their Los Angeles Center for a ground stop order that prevented them from accepting additional flights into their airspace Wednesday.

Air traffic came to an abrupt halt in the southwest after a “ground stop” was issued because of computer issues, forcing several planes to be diverted, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

CBS SF reported that two planes flying from San Francisco to Los Angeles were forced to completely turn back over the 3 p.m. EST-issued order which authorities said only prevented planes from taking off.

“The FAA’s Los Angeles Center air traffic control facility experienced technical issues and stopped accepting additional flights into the airspace managed by the facility for about an hour,” the FAA said in a statement to the Daily News.

“Some flights were diverted and the agency issued a nationwide ground stop for flights heading into the airspace managed by the center. The agency is gradually restoring the system.”

Traffic picked up on streets surrounding Los Angeles International Airport as access roads were closed with flights delayed and cancelled on November 1, 2013 after a gunman reportedly opened fire at a security checkpoint. Police believe the gunman who opened fire at Los Angeles airport Friday acted alone, a police chief said, while not confirming reports that the shooter and one victim were killed. MTA fires LIRR President Helena Williams

The president of the LIRR was fired on Wednesday, sources told the Post.

Helena Williams, the railroad’s first female president, had headed it for almost seven years, and served the MTA in other positions for 13 years.

MTA Chairman Thomas Prendergast decided to replace her with Patrick Nowakowski, the executive director of a project to build a rail line

between Washington, D.C. and Dulles, Va.

Before that, he worked for over 27 years at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority.

Prendergast praised Williams’ work on the railroad’s operations, communications, and community relations in a statement.

Railroad workers have threatened to strike this summer, but that does not appear to be a factor in why she was let go.

She is the LIRR’s longest-serving president in decades, and was also the first woman to run any MTA agency.

“It’s been a privilege to have served as LIRR president,” Williams said in a statement. “I am deeply grateful to the men and women of the LIRR, and to my leadership team who have worked tirelessly to meet the needs of our customers and help modernize the LIRR’s operations.”

The 20-year-old shooter who senselessly opened fire on mourners during a tearful candlelit vigil in the Bronx could spend life behind bars, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Fordham Heights resident Darrell Patillo pled guilty to second-degree murder and attempted murder in the fatal 2012 shooting of 22-year-old Jonathan Lewis, who was mourning the year-old murder of his childhood friend Michael Ikoli.

Ikoli, then 24, was gunned down at the Webster Ave. site in 2011, and friends and family were observing the deadly anniversary when Patillo suddenly shot Lewis in the chest with a .38-caliber before firing a bullet in his neck.

Cop accused of lying under oath in drug trial

A 16-year NYPD veteran was in the hot seat Wednesday, accused of lying to a grand jury about a Manhattan drug bust in 2009, nixing the prosecution of the two men who were arrested.

Det. Said Salim, who works in the firearms unit, was hit with perjury charges after he falsely testified twice that he stopped Jose Martinez and Wayne Davis on July 13, 2009 on 144th St. and Bradhurst Ave. because he believed Davis was a confidential informant, prosecutors said.

The cop testified before a grand jury on July 17, 2009 that when he realized Davis was not the informant, he told the two men to leave the area and saw them pass a gym bag.

“My partner and I exit the vehicle, and at which time, I observed Martinez drop the bag … I looked at Wayne Davis and I look at my partner and informed my partner that that’s not our confidential informant,” Salim testified, according to the indictment.

Salim, 43, then searched the bag, which contained two kilograms of cocaine, when both men denied ownership. He then arrested them on drug possession charges, according to court papers. Salim denied ever patting down the two men, according to his testimony.

Prosecutors allege the detective arrested Davis and Martinez without probable cause.

“There is a video from a neighboring apartment building that captured the arrest,” said prosecutor Ryan Connors. “[Witnesses] indicate that [Salim] arrested both men, stopped and frisked them and then searched the bag.”

Charges against Davis and Martinez were dropped as a result of Salim’s alleged false testimony before the grand jury, as well as at a suppression hearing in September 2010, prosecutors said.

Salim, who pleaded not guilty to perjury, official misconduct and other related charges Wednesday at his Manhattan Supreme Court arraignment, was released without bail and returns to court June 3.

“I didn’t know anything about a video. My testimony was accurate. I may have been mistaken about the timing of when I patted them down. I didn’t want to tip off the person who was with the [confidential informant],” Salim told prosecutors following his arrest Wednesday morning, according to court papers.

Dozens of NYPD cops packed the courtroom in support of Salim.

Defense attorney Mark Bederow called the charges against his client “unfortunate” and noted that prosecutors waited nearly five years to press charges.

“They’re literally two months within the statute [of limitations],” he said. “This case will be vigorously contested.”

V. Stiviano, 31 — the former mistress of the 80-year-old billionaire — made the bizarre comments on Tuesday, a few hours after she clumsily roller skated past the media camped outside her home.

“One day, I will become president of the United States of America and I will change the legislation and laws,” Stiviano, who was wearing a tinted visor to hide her face, told KABC-TV.

Stiviano spoke after several odd encounters with the media camped outside her home during the same day NBA Commissioner Adam Silver permanently banned Sterling from the league for his foul attack on African-Americans.

Silver, who also imposed a $ 2.5 million fine against the basketball bigot, said Sterling expressed no remorse over the racist comments made public by TMZ on Saturday.

Stiviano’s lawyer, Mac Nehoray, told the Los Angeles Times confirmed that the woman recorded Sterling’s anti-black rant, but maintained she had nothing to do with giving the audio clip to the gossip website.

“My client is devastated that this got out,” Nehoray told the paper.

Stiviano — who often sat next to Sterling courtside during the games — believes she knows who got a copy of the audio, which was likely given to the website for money, Nehoray said.

Nehoray also claimed that his client never had a sexual relationship with Sterling, who has been married to his wife, Rochelle, for more than 50 years.

Suspect arrested in murder of Menachem Stark

Menachem Stark was kidnapped by two assailants Jan. 2, and police may finally caught one them. Eli Wohl Menachem Stark was kidnapped by two assailants Jan. 2, and police may finally caught one them.

Detectives have arrested a suspect in connection with the mysterious murder of a Brooklyn landlord, a spokesman for his family Tuesday.

The unidentified man is the “main player” in the brutal killing of 39-year-old Menachem Stark, police sources told the Daily News.

It was not immediately clear whether this man, who sources said “copped” to the grisly crime, was a contractor to whom Stark owed $ 20,000 – and who has been in the sights of detectives for months.

Two associates of the suspect, who were linked to the crime by the minivan in which Stark was abducted, are still being questioned but have not been charged, the sources said.

Police Commissioner Bill Bratton did not identify the suspect, but said the pace of their investigation “has accelerated significantly.”

“We’re very pleased with the direction the investigation is now going,” he said.

The revelations raised hopes that after four months of fruitless searching there might finally be justice for the father of seven and his grieving family.

NYC PAPERS OUT. Social media use restricted to low res file max 184 x 128 pixels and 72 dpiDebbie Egan-Chin/New York Daily News Rabbi David Neiderman, seen Jan. 6, says the arrest of a possible killer is bittersweet — bitter because it doesn’t bring Menachem Stark back, sweet because it’s justice.

“Today is bittersweet,” said Rabbi David Niederman, who heads the United Jewish Organizations of Williamsburg. “Bitter because Menachem is no longer with us and he is forever missed, sweet that the law enforcement community has made an arrest in this heinous crime.”

Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) chimed in with praise for the police.

“I have followed this terrible and tragic case from the beginning and applaud the NYPD for their tenacity in pursuing the murder suspects,” said Hikind.

New video from the scene of the Menachem Stark abduction has been obtained by the NYPD. The video, captured before the crime occurred, shows a suspect exiting a white van and walking to the corner of Broadway and Rutledge Street at approximately 1700 hours on the day of the crime. The video then shows the suspect walk back to the white van. The same action is shown from two different cameras. -- DCPIA suspect is seen exiting a white van at Broadway and Rutledge St. the night Menachem Stark disappeared.

The Hasidic businessman was snatched Jan. 2 outside his Williamsburg office and found dead the next day in a Long Island trash bin. His body had been burned and police later tracked down the van that carried him to his death.

Stark was up to his ears in debt when he died and police suspect his massive money woes may have figured in his murder.

And police have been taking a close look at Stark’s ties to the shady Chicago bank that lent him and his partner Israel Perlmutter $ 7.7 million despite their dodgy credit history.

Later, records revealed that Stark had improperly withdrew $ 3.7 million from his business, South Side Associates, to pay off personal loans.

Stark had borrowed the money to keep a 74-unit Williamsburg property that he co-owned with Perlmutter running during bankruptcy proceedings.

The hard-up landlord was not supposed to use the dough to get out of a hole and bankruptcy court filings revealed that Stark might have cooked the books to “conceal the diversion.”

Stark and Perlmutter defaulted on the S. Fourth St. building’s $ 29 million mortgage in 2009, the records showed. The debt on the building is now over $ 40 million.

When asked under oath about the alleged manipulations, Perlmutter refused to answer, citing his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

NYPD, DA bust Georgia-to-NY weapons pipeline

A weapons pipeline from Georgia to New York was shut down by authorities who busted six gun traffickers who conspired to unload an arsenal of firearms on the streets of Brooklyn, officials said.

The deadly weapons seized — some of which were loaded at the time of the sales — included AR-15, a MAC-11, two TEC-9 automatic weapons, and 151 varieties of pistols and revolvers.

A long-term joint investigation by the NYPD’s Firearms Investigations Unit and the Brooklyn DA’s Major Narcotics Investigations Bureau netted six arrests and a 558-count indictment on a host of weapons charges.

Among those arrested was alleged ringleader Michael Brewer Quick, who has residences in LaGrange, Georgia and on Staten Island.

Quick conspired with five associates, including his wife and two uncles, to amass a stockpile of firearms in Georgia and nearby, and transport them from Georgia to Canarsie, where they were sold for huge profit, according to court papers.

Prosecutors said Quick made a total of 13 car trips from Georgia to Canarsie up the I-95 corridor, carrying as many as 25 firearms at a time, and sold them to an NYPD undercover police officer at the corner of Foster Avenue and East 96th Street.

Quick’s wife,Aliyah Camille Dowell, uncles Rodney Cantrell Brewer and Albert Ellis Pless, and associates Emmanuel Caswell and Marcus White, worked with Quick to collect the firearms in and around Georgia, and to wire money from New York to Georgia to fund the initial purchases of the guns, officials said.

The operation was a quick cash machine.

A 9mm purchased in Georgia for $ 200 could be easily resold in Brooklyn for $ 1,000,” officials said.

“Guns sold illegally find their way into the hands of criminals and often destroy lives,” Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said.

“This family of gun traffickers did not hesitate to distribute illegal guns in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, but thanks to the hard work of the investigators and prosecutors involved, this pipeline of firearms has been shut down.”

The investigation featured the biggest single buy by the firearms recovery unit in NYPD history: 25 guns in one of the 13 exchanges. The previous record was 16 guns.

The suspects were careful to select guns that could be easily concealed during the 800-mile trip.

The apparently easy accessibility of these weapons threatened the safety and security of our Brooklyn communities,”. said Brooklyn DA Ken Thompson. “We will remain vigilant in the fight against the trafficking and sale of illegal guns.”

The defendants, except Quick’s wife, were charged with criminal possession of a firearm and conspiracy. Dowell was charged with conspiracy. They are all awaiting arraignment.

NYC school custodians paid unequally: union

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Wednesday, April 30, 2014, 11:30 AM

Man sweeping hallway, rear view generic web stock Muntz/Getty Images School cleaners who work for the New York City Department of Education are now earning $ 5 less than those who work for private companies contracted by the DOE.

Some New York City school cleaners will be mopping up the money under a wage agreement that bumps their pay to $ 23 an hour — retroactive to 2011.

It’s a 14% salary increase over the rest of the city’s school cleaners, who have been stuck at $ 18 an hour since 2007.

The higher salary will go to 600 32BJ workers contracted by private companies to clean city schools.

Their salaries are tied to earnings in related private sector industries, thanks to a prevailing wage set by the City Controller.

But the rest of the 32BJ school cleaners — 4,200 who work for the Department of Education — are in a financial mess.

“My rent just went up, my daughter’s in college … We just want the same pay as the commercial sector,” said Jamal Johnson, 44, a DOE cleaner.

“Not for nothing, I haven’t had a raise since 2007,” said the married father of three, who has worked at I.S. 204 in Queens for 11 years.

The pay inequality means custodians working in schools less than a block apart — doing the same jobs — can earn different salaries.

Custodians who work at Brandeis High School Campus on the Upper East Side, hired by private companies ABM and TEMCO, get $ 23 an hour. Meanwhile, DOE janitors at P.S. 9M on the same street get $ 18 an hour because they’re employed by the city, which is exempt from prevailing wage rulings.

SEIU 32BJ has filed a complaint with the Controller over the disparate rates.

The union held a rally at City Hall on Wednesday to call for equal pay across the board.

Ellen Page has come out, and come into her own.

The “Juno” star, 27, shows off her toned midsection in a sultry shoot for Flare Magazine’s June issue.

On Valentine’s Day, Page revealed that she is a lesbian.

“I am here today because I am gay,” she said, on a stage in front of a crowd at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Time to Thrive conference in Las Vegas.

While the eight-minute speech resounded throughout the blogosphere and tabloids shortly after, Page admits to Flare magazine that she was “very nervous.”

“Very, very nervous,” she said. “Yes. I was emotional, deeply, deeply emotional.”

SPCL THIS PHOTOGRAPH WAS TAKEN BY AP IMAGES FOR HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGNJeff Bottari/AP On Feb. 14, Ellen Page came out as gay during her speech at the Human Rights Campaign’s Time to Thrive Conference.

“You think you’re in a place where you’re all ‘I’m thrilled to be gay, I have no issues about being gay anymore, I don’t feel shame about being gay,’ but you actually do. You’re just not fully aware of it.”

The “Inception” actress revealed she’d come out to her parents 8 years before the public speech, back when she was 19.

“I think I still felt scared about people knowing,” she added. “I felt awkward around gay people; I felt guilty for not being myself.”

Now, after receiving a warmer reception to her confession than she’d imagined, Page says she’s “always be happy to talk about being gay.”

“I expected so much more hate,” she told the magazine. “It was just remarkably positive, which is beautiful, because it’s indicative of the change that’s happening.”

Unions offer pay cuts for jobs in affordable-housing plan

Construction unions are so eager to get in on Mayor de Blasio’s plan to build 200,000 units of affordable housing that they’ve offered to take a pay cut, sources told The Post.

The Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York has proposed cost savings as high as 40 percent if the administration includes union labor in its mammoth, 10-year building plan.

Currently, many of the projects to build below-market housing — particularly in the outer boroughs — employ cheaper, nonunion workers.

De Blasio is set to unveil his affordable-housing plan Thursday.

NYPD cop arrested for downloading child porn videos

An NYPD officer was arrested after investigators found several child-porn videos on his home computer, authorities said.

Officer Yong-Fa Wu, 34, was busted at his Ozone Park home Monday after police tied him to a sweeping online investigation of illicit file sharing, officials said.

Cyber surveillance conducted on April 1 found that Wu’s computer was used to download “at least 60 files of investigative interest,” according to the criminal complaint.

During the 6:30 a.m. Monday raid, cops found five explicit videos on Wu’s computer of girls between eight and 13-years-old engaging in a variety of sex acts, some with adult men, according to authorities.

One vile clip showed a girl believed to be between 11 and 13 having sex with a man, court documents revealed.

Wu, who is assigned to the 62nd precinct in Bensonhurst, was arraigned Monday in Queens court on seven counts each of promoting and possessing sexual performance by a child.

He was held in lieu of $ 50,000 cash bail.

Yong-Fa Wu was arrested and arraigned Monday.

Manhattan

A chatty thief stole $ 16,500 worth of jewelry from a store at the South Street Seaport.

He walked into Seaport Jewelers on Fulton Street at 1:30 p.m. Friday and asked to try on an $ 8,300 ring, law- enforcement sources said.

He casually told the clerk of being in town to attend Nets NBA playoff contests in Brooklyn.

The thief, believed to be in his 20s, said he was considering buying the platinum band with a diamond — but then fled with two unpaid-for rings, the sources said.

He sped off in a Chevrolet Cruze, sources added.

The man, sporting a goatee, was last seen wearing a dark-blue baseball cap, gray jeans and a waist-length black jacket.

A thief sneaked into a Soho bakery and stole the backpack of an employee, police sources said.

The robber entered Once Upon a Tart at 1:15 p.m. Monday, sneaked into a private employee dressing room and walked out with the bag, which contained a credit card, a wallet and $ 100, cops added.

A suspect was busted in the theft of $ 2,500 worth of sneakers from a high-end Soho store, police sources said.

Kevin Williams, 24, of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, walked into Balenciaga on Mercer Street at 2:30 p.m. on April 4 and used a bogus American Express gift card to buy four pairs of sneaks at $ 600 each, sources said.

After the suspect left the store, AmEx rejected the charges and reported the fraud. Cops reviewed video footage to identify the suspect.

Cops are looking for the young thug who bashed a bodega worker in the arm with a skateboard as five punks tried to flee the lower Manhattan store with stolen candy, sources said.

The thieves walked into the deli on Broadway near Thomas Street at 3:30 p.m. Monday, grabbed items and walked toward the door, sources said, with one jerk knocking over a fruit display.

When a 28-year-old worker tried to stop the five, one smacked him on the arm with his board.

Brooklyn

Cops released the photo above of the suspected ID thief who has allegedly used physician and patient information to obtain bogus painkiller prescriptions from pharmacies in and around Sheepshead Bay.

The thief began using the identity of a patient in the drugstore scam on Dec. 5, cops said.

As well as the Brooklyn capers, he was caught on camera picking up more drugs at AJ’s Village Chemist in Middle Village, Queens, on Feb. 19, police said.

An NYPD janitor thought she could get a five-finger discount by exiting a Target in Kensington with nearly $ 150 worth of unpaid-for nail-polish products, said law- enforcement authorities.

Stacey Mathison, 40, was at the store on Nostrand Avenue near East 31st Street at 5:45 p.m. Saturday when she pocketed nail polish, nail art, polish remover and a pricey nail top coat from the cosmetics aisle and tried to flee, said arresting officers.

Queens

Police released the sketch above of a would-be kidnapper who tried to snatch a teen off a street in College Point, authorities said.

The creep drove his dark gray, four-door sedan up to the 18-year-old and offered her a ride as she walked along 25th Avenue near 126th Street at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, cops said.

When the girl refused, the man parked his car near 124th Street, grabbed her around her waist, put his hand over her mouth and and dragged her toward the vehicle shouting, “Get in the car!” police sources said.

The woman fought back, foiling the abduction, cops said.

The predator fled in his car.

Police said the man is in his early 30s and about 5-foot-6, and was wearing a blue, short-sleeved shirt.
