The teen who left her ID behind before vanishing in the Hudson River is believed to be a distraught high schooler who had just been caught cheating on an exam, a cop source said Friday.
South Bronx resident Omotayo Adeoye, 17, who attends the High School for Math, Science and Engineering at City College in Harlem, handed her belongings to a stranger about 3:50 p.m. Thursday, police sources said. She then put her identification on a rock outcropping and entered the water off the Hudson River Greenway near W. 163rd St.
The teen went under water as witnesses pleaded with her to return to shore. Her body hadn’t been found by Friday night.
About a half-hour after she disappeared, her school called 911, claiming that Adeoye left behind a note saying “she was upset at being caught cheating and would be found in the river,” the cop source said.
Adeoye’s mother was too grief-stricken to talk Friday night.
“She was a good girl, but I can’t talk about it,” she said.

No, I don't think it's cheating cause you didn't show the answer, right?
