An NYPD homicide detective was busted for drunk driving and refusing to take a breath test after getting into an accident in Brooklyn Wednesday, authorities said.

James Nash, 53, who is assigned to the Brooklyn South Homicide Squad, was arrested after the fender bender at Quentin Road and W. Fifth St. at 5:45 p.m. in Gravesend, police said.

Nash, who has been with the department for more than 20 years, was brought to the 62nd Precinct stationhouse, where he refused to take a Breathalyzer test.

The arrest follows several recent incidents involving off-duty cops and alcohol. The Daily News reported Wednesday that Detective Jay Poggi, who was charged with DWI last month after he accidentally shot his partner in the wrist after a night of drinking, has been fired by Police Commissioner Bill Bratton.
