New York City gas prices drop to early 2011 rates

New York City gas prices are dropping to early 2011 rates, an analyst told The Post.

“It’s a hell of a decline. As a motorist, I’m jumping up and down,” said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.com.

The average price per gallon of gas in the city was just $ 3.53 on Monday, DeHaan said.

The national average could fall below $ 3 a gallon before the end of the year for the first time since 2010, GasBuddy.com analysts said.
