Ex-Yeshiva students waited too long for molestation suit: appeals court

A federal appeals panel on Thursday rejected a $ 680 million lawsuit filed by 34 ex-students of Yeshiva University’s prestigious all-boys high school who claim honchos there covered up decades of sexual and physical abuse.

The Manhattan-based Second Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with a lower court that the victims waited too long to make their claim.

The 2013 suit was “untimely” and exceeded statutes of limitations for the alleged crimes, the panel ruled.

The suit alleged the school turned a blind eye as at least two rabbis sexually assaulted teenage boys at the Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy between 1969 and 1989.

Kevin Mulhearn, the plaintiffs’ lawyer, called the court ruling an “abomination.”
