A 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg in Brooklyn.
It happened around 4 p.m. in the afternoon on Lott Avenue and Osborn Street in Brownsville.
Police say the injury is not life threatening.
Suspect
Community members say the shooting shows there hasn’t been enough done to protect residents.
“To turn around and see that a young male waiting for a bus, or just getting off the bus waiting for his grandmother, to turn around and get shot in a crossfire here in Brownsville again speaks volumes to the fact that we have not done our jobs here yet with regards to safeguarding the individuals that live in this community,” said community advocate Tony Herbert.
Police say the suspect, who was wearing a grey shirt, fled the scene.
