Cops find cache of weapons in ex-con’s home


Police uncovered a cache of deadly weapons inside an ex-con’s Queens home including a couple assault rifles, and several hundred rounds of ammunition, cops said. Wednesday.


The discovery came after police were investigating the Ridgewood pad, where Victor Rivera,51, lives on 79th Avenue and 60th Street, Tuesday around 2 p.m., according to police.


Police Officers Mark Bublin and Matat Oleg, along with Sergeant Timothy Hinteman made the arrest and rounded up the weaponry from Rivera’s bedroom and garage.


They recovered two shotguns, three rifles, two assault rifles, a TEC-9, a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol, two .22 caliber revolvers and 700 rounds of ammunition, cops said.


Rivera was charged with 20 counts of criminal possession of a weapon, three counts of criminal possession of a loaded firearm and criminal possession of a controlled substance.


Rivera has several prior arrests including murder for a fatal stabbing in Brooklyn in 1982, criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license, cops said. His other arrests were sealed.
