Helicopter makes emergency landing after bird collision


A helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing after it struck a bird while touring the city, officials said.


The bird collided with the Bell B407 chopper approximately six miles southwest of LaGuardia airport, according to the FAA.


The helicopter landed at the West 30th heliport at 2:45 p.m., FAA officials said.


One person refused medical attention at the scene, fire officials said.


It is unknown how many people were aboard the chopper.


The FAA will investigate the incident.
