Queens House Fire Leaves Two Children Dead, Man Injured

Two children are dead and a man is injured in a house fire in Queens.

Fire officials say it started on the first floor of a two-story house on Tioga Drive in St. Albans Monday night.

Two boys, ages 6 and 11, were killed.

A man in the house jumped from the third floor, and suffered minor injuries. Officials say they don’t know if he was related to the children.

“Both were removed from the building. Both were in cardiac arrest. CPR was initiated on them by firefighters on the scene, subsequently transferred to EMS where they were transported to Queens General Hospital. At approximately 20:25 hours both children were pronounced, were pronounced deceased,” said FDNY Deputy Assistant Chief James Leonard.

Three firefighters were treated for injuries.

No word on what caused the fire.
