Brooklyn man, 57, found dead, throat slashed

Police found the body of Mahuddin Mahumd about 12:25 a.m. Tuesday in a basement apartment on McDonald Ave. near Avenue C.



Cops were hunting a Brooklyn tenant after finding his landlord murdered with his head nearly cut off, police sources said Tuesday.


The victim, Mahuddin Mahumd, 57, had his throat slashed and also suffered burns to his face, officials said.

Mahumd’s body was found in his basement office in an apartment building on McDonald Ave. near Avenue C in Kensington about 12:30 a.m. Cops were responding to a call about an assault in progress when they came upon the bloody scene.


Investigators were looking to question a tenant who lived in the apartment next to Mahumd’s office. Sources said the resident, who is in his early 20s, hasn’t been seen since the slaying.

Mahumd lived a mile away on Westminster Road, but owned the McDonald Ave. building and ran an electronics store inside it.
