Cops are investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy who mysteriously died today in the care of a babysitter in a Manhattan apartment.
Cops were told by the babysitter that the boy was placed on a bathroom counter before apparently falling into empty bathtub where he was found unconscious and unresponsive.
The child was rushed from the W. 48th Street apartment to St. Lukes Hospital shortly before 11 am, where he was pronounced dead.
A source said the boy’s body had bruises and defensive wounds.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
