As he gears up to run for re-election this year, Governor Andrew Cuomo is set to lay out his 2014 agenda in his State of the State address later today.
Earlier this week, the governor announced that he would push for cuts in property taxes for homeowners, and corporate taxes for businesses.
He’s also expected to call for the limited implementation of a medical marijuana program.
The change would allow 20 hospitals around the state to provide medical marijuana to patients with severe illnesses.
But instead of passing a bill through the legislature, Cuomo would invoke a 1980 law that allows him to make the change through the state Health Department.
NY1 will carry the Governor’s address live starting at 1:30 p.m.
