Fire marshals say the Bronx fire that displaced 12 people during the brunt of the snowstorm was caused by Christmas tree lights.
The flames broke out at a home on College Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. Friday and ripped through all three floors.
It took more than 100 firefighters about two-and-a-half hours to get the fire under control.
Ten people suffered minor injuries, but no one was taken to the hospital.
The Red Cross says it’s providing supplies and shelter to all the displaced residents.
The FDNY says that residents should always keep Christmas trees watered and limit the use of lights on trees kept longer than two weeks.
