FDNY Responds to Five-Alarm Fire at Greenpoint Lumber Yard


Firefighters spent the frigid overnight hours battling flames at a lumber yard in Brooklyn.


The fire broke out just after midnight at a complex in Greenpoint.


Heavy smoke and fire poured out near the intersection of Varick and Meeker Street.


It took until about 5 a.m. for firefighters to control the five-alarm fire.


Two fireboats were also called in.


No injuries have been reported at this time.
