The city medical examiner says DNA testing confirms the remains found in Queens last week are that of 14-year-old Avonte Oquendo.
The 14-year-old autistic boy went missing in October when he walked out of his school in the middle of the day.
Last week, police discovered human remains washed up on the shore of the East River in College Point, Queens.
The body was wearing the same clothes Avonte had on when he disappeared, but officials were waiting on DNA testing to be sure.
Meanwhile, concerns are being raised about the events leading up to Avonte’s disappearance.
The family’s lawyer says they are once again reviewing tapes from inside the Long Island City school where the teen vanished.
He says a school safety agent told investigators she told the teen to go back to class and saw him go up the stairs. But surveillance video shows he walked out of the school instead.
