Sources tell NY1 that a woman lost her leg after being hit by a cement truck Saturday morning in Manhattan.
It happened at 10 a.m. on the Upper East Side.
Police sources tell NY1 that a 63-year-old woman was crossing 2nd Avenue at the 68th Street intersection when she was hit by a cement truck making a turn.
Sources say the women’s left leg was severed below the knee.
According to sources, it appears that the 52-year-old man driving the truck did not realize he hit the woman at first, but then stopped after witnesses waved him down.
He stayed at the scene.
