The Queens man wanted in connection with the murder of his wife and two young daughters over the weekend could be back in New York soon.
Investigators from New York interviewed Miguel Mejia-Ramos, 28, in Texas on Tuesday and say he seems willing to waive his extradition.
Officials say they will try to get his extradition papers signed by a district judge and get him back to New York as soon as Wednesday.
Texas police say they caught Mejia-Ramos Monday night, halfway between Houston and San Antonio.
Investigators believe he was trying to make his way into Mexico.
The bodies of 21-year-old Deisy Garcia and her daughters, Yaslin and Daniela Mejia, were found Sunday night.
All three had been stabbed multiple times.
