Zac Efron finally opened up about his stint in rehab when he visited the “Today” show on Tuesday.

“I’m in the best place that I’ve ever been in,” he told Savannah Guthrie. “I’ve never been this happy before.”

The 26-year-old actor was on the morning show to promote the new film “That Awkward Moment,” which explores the ups and downs of dating for three young men. Efron stars in the movie and is executive producer.

While he was graceful in answering Guthrie’s questions pertaining to his recovery, Efron didn’t want to stray too far from discussing his new project, which also stars Michael B. Jordan (“Fruitvale Station”) and Miles Teller (“The Spectacular Now”).

“I’m extraordinarily grateful for these guys and to be here promoting this movie,” he added. “Things are good. Thank you for asking.”

The former “High School Musical” star has kept quiet about his substance abuse problems, which put him in rehab in the spring of 2013.

However, he proudly displayed a blue AA chip, which represents six months of sobriety, while attending a Los Angeles Lakers game in December.

“He’s had to go from being a party boy to being completely sober,” an insider told Us Weekly in September. “It’s going to take time, but he’s handling it well.”

Efron also handled questions about his sobriety well and appeared to be in good spirits Tuesday. He even joked about a seen in the movie when naked acrobatics were involved.

“I started practicing when I was very young,” he quipped. “That’s actually how I got into acting.”
