Man arrested in killing of missing woman

Dante Taylor

A 23-year-old man was arrested in the slaying of a Long Island mother who went missing exactly one month ago today, cops said.

Dante Taylor, of Mastic, Long Island, was nabbed in Florida by Suffolk County Police homicide detectives and U.S. Marshals. He was picked up on an unrelated warrant July 10, before he was linked to the murder of Sarah Goode—who was found dead in a wooded area in Medford, Long Island, according to police.

About 50 friends and family members scoured the area for the mom’s body before it was discovered on June 12, Long Island.

Her 1999 BMW was discovered about a mile from the home she lived at with her mother and 4-year-old daughter.

Goode had recently broken up with her boyfriend and went missing, police said.

There were signs of a physical struggle inside her abandoned car and her disappearance was deemed suspicious by the Suffolk County Police, authorities said.

Goode’s mother filed a missing person’s report after not hearing from her daughter in several days, according to police.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the two knew each other.

Taylor will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Saturday morning.
