Girl, 4, Recovering from Fall Out Second-Story Window in Queens

A 4-year-old girl is recovering after falling out of a second-story window in Queens.

Police say it happened around 10 a.m. Sunday at an apartment building in Hollis.

The girl was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital with minor scratches and bruises.

“She was standing by the gate crying in her underwear, and I started to pass her by, but I said, ‘Somebody abandoned this child,’ and the child said she want her mommy. She said she fell out the window,” said one witness. “She was just crying. I think she was more in shock than anything else.”

Investigators are still looking into the circumstances of the fall and whether anyone was home with her at the time.
