A cab strikes and kills a woman trying to cross the street on the Upper East Side.
Police say it happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Madison Avenue and East 79th Street.
They say the taxi driver was making a left onto 79th Street when he hit the 58-year-old woman.
She was taken to Lenox Hill hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
