NYPD officer grazed by bullet in Brooklyn shooting

An NYPD officer was grazed in the leg by a bullet early Sunday morning, when a revolver-toting gunman turned and fired during a foot pursuit in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, authorities said.

The cop’s leg was clipped by the round just before 2:30 a.m. at Gates Avenue and Marcus Garvey Boulevard, according to police. He was one of four cops who had been chasing the gunman when he turned and opened fire.

The injured officer was rushed to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

The gunman was shot in the torso by cops, and was taken to the same hospital. Officials said his wound was also non-life-threatening. The revolver was recovered at the scene.

Neither the officer nor the suspect were identified by authorities, and the investigation is ongoing.
