Stop-Work Notice Issued for Pacific Park Tower

A conflict between contractors and developers has halted construction on the world’s tallest modular building in Brooklyn.

Skanska USA Building says there are “significant commercial disputes” between them and the site’s developers and has issued a stop-work notice.

The project was recently rebranded as Pacific Park. It was previously known as Atlantic Yards.

The tower is being constructed using modular units made at a factory in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

FCS Modular blames Skanska for work stoppage, with a spokesman saying, “Skanska entered into a construction management agreement based on a fixed price which they guaranteed. Now faced with overruns, they are employing a typical strategy to try to weasel out of that obligation.”
