Interfaith Supporters Rally to Protest Denial of State Funds

Supporters of Interfaith Medical Center plan to hold a rally today to protest the denial of state funds.

The move threatens the future of the financially unstable Brooklyn hospital.

On Thursday, ambulances and emergency services were diverted from Interfaith for several hours following a disagreement between state officials and the facility over the operation of clinics.

That sparked a leadership crisis, with unions representing hospital workers demanding the removal of Interfaith CEO Patrick Sullivan.

The hospital says Sullivan announced his intention to step down weeks ago.

The rally at Interfaith is scheduled for 1 p.m. today.
