Jet Skids Into Snowbank at J.F.K. Airport

There were no injuries reported aboard the plane, Delta Connection Flight 4100 from Toronto, which had 35 passengers, said Ron Marsico, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the airport. The plane had landed safely on Runway 22L around 8 a.m. but slid into the snowbank while turning from the runway onto a taxiway, he said.

All flights at the airport were suspended at 8:32 a.m. and started to resume around 10:30 a.m., airport officials said. Two runways, 22L and 22R, were reopened after receiving approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. Crews continued to work to reopen two other runways.

Port Authority police and emergency crews assisted passengers and towed the plane from the airfield, Mr. Marsico said.

The temperature at the airport was 31 degrees on Sunday morning, and light, freezing rain was falling, the National Weather Service reported.

The plane, a CRJ2 regional jet, typically has seats for fewer than 80 passengers, according to Delta’s flight records. The Federal Aviation Administration said the Delta flight was operated by Endeavor Air, which was formerly Pinnacle Airlines.
