The Queens man was pulled from the flaming basement of the building severely injured and burned. He was rushed to the hospital, but could not be saved.
A 63-year-old man died after a fire ripped through the basement of a Queens apartment building early Friday, authorities said.
The blaze began at 5:59 a.m. in the structure at 159th St. at 43rd Ave. in Murray Hill, police said. The victim was pulled from the flames with severe burns and trauma, police said.

Emergency responders rushed him to New York Hospital Queens, but he could not be saved, authorities said. His name was not immediately released.
The fire marshal was investigating the cause of the blaze.
