Some Victims’ Families Outraged at $24 Admission to 9/11 Museum

Some family members of victims are ripping a plan to charge a mandatory admission fee at the September 11th Museum.

Adults will be charged $ 24 to visit when the museum opens in the spring.

The museum does not get federal funding and officials say the fee is necessary to cover its $ 60 million per year operating costs.

There will be discounts for children, seniors and schools, and hours will be set aside every week for the general public to enter for free.

Families of September 11th victims will not be charged.

But some of those families are opposed to the admission fee, claiming the money generated will go to pay the salaries of museum executives.

They are asking for the National Parks Service to take over full operation of the museum, saying the agency could run it at a much lower cost.
