Queens woman killed crossing street

Personal effects lie on the ground in Queens where Mosa Khatun was struck by a driver who returned to the scene to talk with police. Khatun died at Queens Hospital Center.




A woman was struck and killed by a driver in Queens who left the scene but then returned immediately, cops said Monday.


Mosa Khatun, 38, was crossing a street in her Jamaica neighborhood around 10:20 p.m. Sunday when a 2004 Nissan SUV driven by a 20-year-old woman hit her, officials said.

The driver was trying to make a left turn onto 169th St. from Highland Ave., cops said. She didn’t immediately realize she had hit a person because it was foggy, cops said. It was unclear how far she went before returning.


Emergency responders took Khatun to Queens Hospital Center in critical condition. She died there a short time later, officials said.
