Large Scale Anthrax Drill Being Held Across City Today

Emergency responders are holding a large scale drill simulating an anthrax attack on the city today.

Over 1,500 workers from 13 city agencies are taking part in the biggest emergency drill ever attempted in New York.

It calls for them to simulate the Health Department’s emergency response plan by setting up 30 simulated drug distribution centers around the five boroughs.

The goal is to get life-saving medication to as many New Yorkers as quickly as possible.

Homeland Security is paying for the exercise, which is expected to cost nearly $ 1.5 million.
