At least 20 inmates could now face new charges following a raid on Rikers Island.
This comes after two guards were arrested Tuesday in connection with that investigation.
Correction Officers Devine Rahming and Steven Dominguez were arraigned on drug possession charges.
Investigators say the two were found carrying cocaine and marijuana.
The search was carried out by the city’s Department of Investigation and the Department of Correction.
In a statement they said, “DOI and DOC worked together on these arrests to pierce the network of contraband smuggling, violence, and evidence tampering in the City’s jails, pernicious problems that have a damaging effect on safety and security in the correctional facilities.”
