An elderly man was seriously hurt after being hit by a yellow taxi that jumped a curb in Midtown on Monday, officials said.
The cab careened up onto the sidewalk on East 59th Street near Madison Avenue around 11:50 a.m. and smashed into the victim, authorities said.
The pedestrian was conscious and able to move on his own when he was taken to New York Hospital. The driver was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
Both men were conscious and in stable condition, authorities said.
It was not immediately clear what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle or whether any criminality was involved, police said.
