White powder sent to hearing aid company: cops

Not the best way to be heard.

Office workers at a Upper East Side hearing aid company were exposed to a suspicious white powder when they opened a letter from an irate customer this morning, police said.

“There was a letter to the doctor and it had no return address,” a police source said. “The person was upset that they had made a bad hearing aid for their daughter. The person who opened it and one other person were exposed to white powder.”

Police are still testing the substance and both workers are being decontaminated at the scene, authorities said. The employees were exposed around 8:40 a.m., Monday, on the seventh-floor suite on Madison Avenue, near East 60th Street, authorities said.

A crime scene has been established and cops have already begun the hunt for the sender.
