She lent the NYPD a hand — and her hand was wrapped around a baton.

A cop struggling with a crook in downtown Brooklyn got some unexpected assistance Friday afternoon when a woman standing nearby picked up the officer’s baton and bonked the suspect over the head with it, police sources said.

The cop was arresting the unidentified man near the Fulton Mall at Smith St. for an undisclosed crime at about 1:15 p.m. when the crook attempted to fight the cop off, the source said.

The cop’s baton fell out of his gunbelt during the heated struggle, police sources said.

That’s when the woman, who was watching nearby, picked it up and hit the would-be criminal, police source said.

Fighting a war on two fronts, the suspect gave up his fight and was taken into custody, officials said.

Paramedics took him to Brooklyn Hospital with a minor injury, officials said.

Charges were pending.
