The king and queen of this year’s Mermaid Parade are already part of the city’s ruling class.
Dante and Chiara, Mayor de Blasio’s children have been tapped to head up the June 21st event on Coney Island.
They will be King Neptune and Queen Mermaid.
Parade organizers say they represent a whole generation of young New Yorkers who are important to the continued success of the event and Coney Island as a whole.
Now in it’s 32nd year, this year’s parade will pay homage to Coney Island’s old Mardi Gras, which ended in 1954.
