If he had to have his tooth pulled, a 7-year-old Queens boy wanted to make sure he could do it in a fun way.
An adorable online video shows courageous Lance Rodriguez, of Howard Beach, using his Hot Wheels car launcher in order to pull out his loose front tooth.
His father Neal Rodriguez, 38, told the Daily News he had yanked out Lance’s two other loose teeth and this time the boy wanted to figure out a new way.
“We looked at different ways to do it (online) and we figured out we needed to use something that launched,” he said.
The family then realized they had a Hot Wheels car launcher that could work.
My dad wanted to yank it with his hands and I wanted to do so many ways that would be fun. This way was the best!
“He said, ‘I want to do it like that,’” Rodriguez said.
The child was a little nervous in the video as he sat Tuesday on a chair on a back deck with a string tied to the tooth that was connected to a green car. He then launched the car off the table and the string tugged at the tooth.
Neal said the launching loosened the incisor, and Lance then pulled on the string, releasing it from his mouth and onto the floor.
After initially being startled, some blood and tears followed – but it was only temporary.

“Oh my God there’s blood coming out of me!” he cries, and then runs inside the house.
“He got scared because he saw blood but once he realized the tooth was out he was happy about it,” his father told The News. “The tooth was loose for a couple of days. He wanted it out. It was really bothering him.”
The family did try some other techniques like having Lance eat corn on the cob, but it didn’t work. Neal also said he was worried his son might swallow it if they had him eat a hard food to knock it out.
After a little bit the tears stopped and Lance was fine. His family followed him in the house and applauded his accomplishment by chanting his name.

“I took out my own tooth! Hooray!” he exclaimed.
He then finally turns to his dad and flashes his winning smile with the very noticable gap.
“I want to say something. I know there is blood on my shirt but I (don’t) care,” he said.

A much calmer Lance also recorded a second video in which he examines the blood on his fallen-out tooth and explains to the audience the history of it.
“My dad wanted to yank it with his hands and I wanted to do so many ways that would be fun,” he said. “This way was the best!”
The Tooth Fairy must have been watching because Neal said Lance and his brother received some Hot Wheels items – including a new launcher – later that night.
